LIVE ARTIST – CLARENCE BOURGOIN on May 24 and 25

Clarence will be painting at the gallery on May 24 and 25.

Awarded Grand Master Council by the International Academy of Fine Arts of Quebec in 2022 and recipient, in the same year, of the Governor General of Canada’s Meritorious Service Medal, Clarence Bourgoin is a renowned artist who has been listed in the Fine Arts Museum’s registry since 1987.

In 2005, he was featured in International Artist Magazine in an article titled Master Painters of the World – Canada Showcase 2005. In 2007, during an exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts awarded him a special prize for his work. These are just a few highlights from a long and distinguished artistic career.

What sets Clarence Bourgoin’s creations apart is his ability to infuse soul into the landscapes he paints. Rather than simply reproducing nature, he brings it to life through expressive gestures and brushstrokes that are uniquely his own. His works, vibrant with color, reflect not only the beauty of the natural world but also the personality of the artist himself: passionate, genuine, and warmly outspoken.

Always in search of his next inspiration, Clarence Bourgoin travels the roads of his native New Brunswick and of Quebec, attentively observing everything around him. He humorously admits that he can be “a hazard on the road” because he sometimes brakes suddenly when a landscape inspires him. “When I see a beautiful scene,” he says, “I hit the brakes and stop to paint it.”
