Waking up Minutes Before Midnight is 20 x 30.  Oil on canvas.

Again, I return to the theme of representing spirit and body by dividing the figures in half – part real, part ’emptiness’.

This painting is about the urgency of realizing we are all connected, and a crisis for one is a crisis for all.  The title, A few minutes before midnight references the doomsday clock.  The human figure is slightly oblivious, while the animals and birds are looking straight at the viewer, imploring awareness.
